SpaceX is moving forward with plans for a massive semiconductor manufacturing facility in Grimes County. The project has been presented as a major investment that could bring thousands of jobs to the area. That kind of economic development deserves serious consideration, but so does what a project of this size could mean for the people who already live here.

One of the things I love most about living in District 12 is the Piney Woods. Our forests, waterways, and open spaces are part of what makes this area feel like home. Protecting them means thinking beyond what we need today and making responsible decisions about what we leave behind.

Immigration has never been an abstract political issue for me. I’m the daughter of immigrants, and I have seen firsthand what people can build when they are given an opportunity to work, contribute, and create a life for their families. My parents’ story shaped how I see immigration and why I believe our policies should balance responsibility with basic humanity.

Healthcare should not be a luxury reserved for people who can afford to get sick. When lifesaving treatment exists, no Texan should have to go without care simply because the cost is out of reach.

Texas has committed $1 billion in public funding to a new education savings account program that can be used for private-school tuition and other approved educational expenses. I believe those resources would be better spent strengthening the public schools that already educate and serve children in communities across our state.
